Dundee District Scout Council
Make Everyday An Adventure

Welcome to the Dundee District Scouts

Dundee Scouting offers challenges and adventure to almost a thousand young people and adults across the city, and is part of a UK organisation with half a million members.

We do some pretty amazing things in Dundee Scouting, but for us, adventure is a way of life and not just an activity or expedition.

Our Scouts grow in confidence by trying out new skills and stretching themselves. Whether it’s an Explorer trying out his French on an international trip or a Scout leading his Patrol for the first time, each time we challenge ourselves, it’s a step forward. When a Scout stands up to a bully, or sticks up for what they believe in; that’s an adventure!

Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 25, of every faith and background. There are also plenty of opportunities for adults to become involved as Leaders, Assistants or Administrators.

We are Collecting Sainsburys Active Kids Vouchers

Dundee Scouts are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers and we’re hoping to count on your support, please!

This is our first year collecting, and we have created a wishlist that shows the items we are collecting for (some of the items are listed below). If you would like to see our full wishlist, visit www2.sainsburys.co.uk/activekids/wishlist/SCO0004138.

So please get behind our campaign, donate your vouchers to us, and let everyone know we’re collecting! You can collect Active Kids vouchers from 15 February to 10 April 2012 when you visit Sainsbury’s stores, petrol stations or shop online. Nectar points can be turned into Active Kids vouchers too! See nectar.com for details.

Your efforts will be greatly appreciated and could make a huge difference to us.

The items will be used as a local resource for all 11 groups in the District.  Please pass vouchers into your leaders or you can post them to

Leader Training

Here is the updated 2012 Training Calendar

Applications should be made on our standard application form to the local ADC(AT) who will forward to the relevant Course Director.

Details of the adventurous activity training is contained in the Lochore Meadows Course Brochure. They will be arranging separate Scouting courses at times to suit us, but I have to have names of those wishing this first. Leaders have been requesting this training for the past three years and the Region have now arranged it, so please make use of it.
